Ready to Pedal is a production of Growth Cycle, of Boulder, Colorado, one of America's best cycling towns. Growth Cycle President Ray Keener has been in the bicycle industry since 1975, with a focus on both consumer and retailer education. Keener owned a bicycle store in the Midwest in the late 1970s, and moved to Northern California in 1980 to expand his horizons.

He went to work as manager of Palo Alto Bicycles in 1981, and the first thing he asked for was a video camera to produce clinic videos for consumer education. After retail and a move to Boulder, Keener spent seven years at Catalyst Communication helping America's bike retailers market themselves more effectively.

In 1995, he started Growth Cycle with the first comprehensive staff training program for bike shop employees, Selling Cycling, which now has over 1500 retail stores and over 11,000 bike shop employees on board. Ready to Pedal continues the success of Growth Cycle's first consumer education product, Riding FUNdamentals, introduced in 2005, with over 300,000 CDs sold to North American bike retailers.

Keener has been published in national and regional bike magazines, has run both consumer and industry events such as VeloSwap and the Bicycle Leadership Conference. While he owns and rides several high-end custom-made bicycles himself, his passion continues to be addressing the needs of America's casual and recreational cyclists.
